What
type of man becomes a soldier?
All
types of man from a baker to accountant
From
the criminal offered either jail or the army
To
the graduate who wanted to become a man
All
signed up and were given a number
Along
with a rifle and uniform and orders
Off
to war they went aged 18-22
Keen
to show they were ready and able
To
kick both German and Japan where it hurt
This
they did hundreds of times over
But
after Germany and Japan kicked them
Killing
their buddies and losing them battles
After
these harsh lessons America stood up
Making
a stand to do what was needed
Smash
the Axis militaries two front war
First
Imperial Japan and then Nazi Germany
But
it was soon apparent that both were equal
One
threat the same as the other
But
different in their make up
Yet
the same in their fighting intent to win
Both
were heavy weight opponents
With
skill and tenacity and a knockout will
This
was the nature of the enemy to fight
The
Army of Democracy stood up
And
took on the challenge to be victorious
Once
and for all even if it took forever
And
cost every single soldier his young life
They
started the war we’d finish it
