Riga flew her ship on a deep space mission. She was a real astronaut. Going past the Moon and planets arcing diagonally away. A star chart plotted on the closed viewing window. This appeased two dimensional. She manipulated the control and it turned 3D. A weaving path through the stars at light speed. More changes and the map became a hologram in front of her. It was interesting. Many stars planets and systems hovering before her. She saw where she was going. A yellow ribbon illustrated her path. She zoomed in and saw her disc slowly moving along. Moving in more till she looked at her own silver ship as it really was. It looked like a brand new penny. Zooming out Riga noted the route and nodded. Her first trip away from Earth and it's system. Some of the other stars were different colours. One to her left was brought yellow. Over to her right was a dark red one. She knew this was down to the science and elements of their make up. It was simple school kids stuff that she remembered well. Of course it went far deeper. Nuclear fusion was the basis of all natural life. All of it including her. We were all star children..even the aliens. Riga turned off the map and got her journal. She was writing down random thought and poems. Maybe she would write a book when she got back. Or publish it. She was half and half on it. Riga had also been reading the ship's manual. She was interested in time travel. It was possible to visit the past. It was advanced science. Time space and motion. All science and maths. Travel to the future was more difficult. As that hadn't happened yet. The aliens would be the ones to ask on that. Those who has built this craft. She had visited the future. The witch had told Riga this. It was risky. Visiting the past was easier. Yet Riga was fascinated on the future. A decade ago she thought she would still be married and working in a call centre. Not becoming a soldier and then organized criminal. Not to mention meeting a witch and being given a flying saucer! And now whizzing out of Earth's solar system. Sone thing you just couldn't write. Suddenly an alert sounded and the star map reappeared. There was an object ahead of her. Riga told the ship to change course. She turned on the invisibility cloak and made the shields stronger. The object was made of metal and moving. It was either a metal asteroid or another ship! Riga turned her disc to be side on to it. Had she been spotted if it was a craft? She opened the viewing window and zoomed in where it was. At first she saw nothing. She tracked in more. There or was! A small dot. It was white and silver. It didn't look line a rock or chunk of metal. It had a certain symmetry. A point at one end and cut off back bit. Fancy that! Another ship. Riga was amazed but cautious. Now her speed matched it. She kept her laser on standby. I want to meet them. Yet I have to be careful. What if they abduct me and steal my ship? The witch would be mad! Riga did a quick protection spell. The little witch! On the screen the other ship got bigger. Riga slowed down and the distance closed. Tens of thousands of miles separated them but they rapidly closed. And there it was! Whoever owned or built it had done grand job. The vessel was two miles long and like a dart or triangle. Much bigger than her small saucer. Riga was to the right side of it. A third of a mile from the front. She went closer. Two hundred yards from it. She inched along and stopped by the large pointed nose. It was silver and white and metal. As her sensors had said. Just then a door opened on the side. They knew she was here! She made her ship visible. The door was hundred of feet wide. Riga pushed her control and flew inside the big craft. The hull was metres thick. It was heavy engineering. She was in a kind of huge bay or hangar. With a soft clunk she put down her landing skids and landed. She kept her shields up. What now? Do I go meet them? Riga the alien aboard an alien ship far from Earth. What had she gotten herself into? Just then a green coloured robot rolled into view. Here we go. Riga took readings of the other ships internal atmosphere. It was oxygen and there was gravity. Should she put on a suit? Fuck it! If I die so be it. I'll meet my dad then. Riga opened the door and jumped out. Hi there she said and waved. The robot said something and she stepped into the cool metal floor and followed it. Goodness me. What now?
