Shoki: The Story of Sensei Pete Ratcliff By Nick Armbrister

Shoki: The Story of Sensei Pete Ratcliff

By Nick Armbrister

Interview 21/02/2013. Sensei Derek also contributed.
Nick: How can you use karate against someone with a gun? What would you do?
Sensei Pete: It depends on the situation. If you’re inexperienced…
Nick: If you were trained…
Sensei Pete: It’s a very very difficult one. Even if you’re trained.
Sensei Derek: That’s not a straight forward question.
Sensei Pete: It would be very very difficult. In training I can train someone to disarm a gun but in reality you’re nerves could go.
Nick: That’s like fear.
Sensei Pete: The best way really is try to talk the gunman out of it. Like you talk your way out of a fight. That’s the best way. There is a good way of disarming a revolver, handgun.
Nick: Can you please talk through that technique?
Sensei Pete: You can talk through the technique on the thing it would have to be shown on video.

2 Noises
Bang!
I picked the girl over my mother
Bang!
I went abroad after deciding
Bang!
You were so mad
Bang!
I went to see a foreign girl
Bang!
I had 3 good weeks abroad
Bang!
I came back home
Bang!
And told you my future plans
Bang!
I said I will go back
Bang!
For good
Bang!
You called me many things

1. Eagles and Stags

Reaching out to strike the Shouts,
Celebration begins to foster as Washington approaches becoming tired and black!
Hopes clasp independence they had been desperate,
The formal proceedings approach to give birth to a new smack.

Americans march out proudly,
Feeling the gusts of bangs and smacks,
Their faces dessert the feelings of cheered leaders,
Smartening beneath the British flags,

Two nations who may witness,
Hard core determination for bangs and slashes,
When they will think the world dominance in future
They will retain their legacy with new rifts and clashes.

The directions of paths lead new groups,
From the victory to the moans of future hags,
True spirit may call the wind they knew,
The way to conquer begins between the Eagles and the Stags...

dirty poem hehe

I used to smell when I was seventeen
Then I popped my cherry
And smelled no more
Except the smell of morning quim
A luxurious thing for a teen
Aged just seventeen
I'd never touched a woman till then
And was only learning to drive
New to the ways of the world
And of women and all they entailed
The cat calls of my teen rivals
Rang in my ears and bounced about
Not leaving me alone till years later
They were just words said by fools
In the grand scale of life
What do they know?
The same as me
No more no less
In this teenage life
Where Carol Anne missed class
Why? Pregnant age thirteen
She experienced the arcane arts of fucking
And got up the duff!
Little did we know how unlucky she was
We were the lucky ones
Protected by ignorance and lack of experience
That soon changed for me in early 89
My New Year gift was a shag
With a big fat slapper
The rest is history
My history all in my life and head
Looking back is was nothing
But at the time it was cataclysmic
Learn from my lessons and wear a rubber!
Then fuck away for England...

mary gal poem

I wanted to meet someone like you
And go with her to a gig
To see The Jesus and Mary Chain
In early summer 87
Just when I left school age 15
A girl like you in a short summer dress
With pale white skin
And shoulder length raven hair
Wearing your paisley dress
And then cut down faded jeans
And the t shirt from our gig
Darklands tour 1986
Only you were with me
Only you were from that time
Only you was there that day
At the gig The Jesus and Mary Chain
Now thirty years on you're a memory
And your t shirt is priceless
You still wear it at Mary Chain gigs
We became lifelong fans
And lifelong lovers
Here's to another thirty years of us
And our band
There will never be another
Not in our lives or ears
