Riga Standings
Riga worked
in a call centre in Bangkok. She had an issue with a bent manager. This guy was
head of sales in the VOIP account. Riga groused over his ethics. The guy was
good at selling. That couldn't be denied. He wasn't able to do anything else.
Being type cast for the role. Riga's supervisor friend Eurasia reported the
manager for corruption. Riga agreed on this and advised her friend how to do
it. The manager denied his agents the full sales bonus. This was wrong and
equal to theft and dishonesty. If the agreed amount was 1000 per sale and only
700 was paid, there was an issue. Unless the amount had been changed and the
agents told. The guy also increased the number of users on sales by
manipulation. The bent manager was given a month’s suspension. Riga and Eurasia
celebrated and had a beer at the local bar by the call centre. Both gals
talked. They knew the manager would be back and do this again. Then they wanted
him permanently out of the centre. It was possible and all tactics. Riga
waggled her toes and grinned. We will bring better values to the call centre.
Starting with the bent manager. Then his smarmy lieutenant will be next. He's
another wanker obsessed with sales. Upping the numbers by illegal manipulation.
Eurasia agreed. This is war and we are winning! Both will be removed. We will
make it so. Riga and Eurasia were good as sales. The legal correct empathic
way...

Riga
Crescendos
There are
times I want to quit
There are
times when I have had enough
I remember
the mission
I remember
why
I remember
those here before me
I remember
what they did
I remember
the legacy we all created
No matter
how hard it gets
That's why
I stay
Even on the
hardest darkest day
When life
and my job has broken me
Time and
time again beyond breaking
That's why
I'm still here
Small
little vulnerable Riga
Riga
Seasonal
Riga saw an
old pilot she once flew with
He had just
landed a transporter
She
descended from her disc
They were at
an alien outpost
Both saw one
another
And ignored
the other
For she
reported him to control
Due to his
unlicensed space craft
The ship was
fast so needed no licence
Nothing
could catch him
Except her
disc but she wouldn't
She wanted
nothing to do with him
The report
grated on his nerves
He paid the fine
at control
Then got on
with his job
Ignoring the
small bad-tempered gal
Who was
always right
Due to her
skills and moods
With no
recognition of her
He finished the
checks and was off
His ship
ascended on orange exhausts
Riga would
stay here two days
There was a
bar and eating place
Once she
took her ex there
Those days were
over past dead
Now it was
her and the disc
She wished
her ex well
Soon forgot
him and went to the bar
The first
iced beer was a joy
Alien brew
coloured green
More would
follow with food
It was a
long way from Earth
If only it
was different
An ex who
was a friend
They could
fly together but
Now they
were strangers
Two Earthlings
far from Earth
Both with
very different alien craft
And with the
same insolent ways
The aliens
thought them crazy!
