'Your papers are not in order.'
"Your papers are not in order." The traffic enforcer reprimanded Riga. She was on her way back from the office after a very trying day. There had been 38 collection calls, 3 sup calls , 2 Dsats and 4 missed calls that were callbacks. She was just pulling up at the lights when an enforcer stepped out from behind a lamppost. It was like he was hiding! She had to stop for there were traffic lights.
"Your papers please madam." He demanded her papers before she was stationery. His gaze was fixed and emotionless. He knew his job and meant business. Riga handed her papers over from her wallet. He scrutinsed them and shook his head.
"Your papers are not in order." there was a faint smile on his face.
"My papers are in order, Hellfire!" the small gal retorted with a glare.
The enforcer held her gaze. He flicked through her papers again and nodded. "Your papers are not in order, madam."
"Really Sir? We will see about that Mr Enforcer."
"Yes, really madam. See for yourself." He handed them back. Riga took them.
She opened her wallet and produced a 5 dollar bill, wrapped it round her papers and handed them back.
The enforcer looked about. He smiled then nodded. "Your papers are now in order."
"Very good, Mr Enforcer. Thank you and good day Sir." Riga started her moped and set off for home.
"Yes, madam. Keep it that way, please. Good day to you."
The lights changed and she set off, keeping under the speed limit. Riga was soon out of site. It had been a long trying day. All those calls and now this…
