One of Those Girls
How many times have we been here Nick?
Wondering about the gals that got away
The lovely 18 year old when I WAS 16
Who wanted me but I said a Mother joke
Right thru to HMH now Luna who said No!
You only think of that yet how we conversed
And a host of others where we flew away
And many many more superb ladies
Mixed in with a host of mongers hahaha
Did I do ok or great or in the middle?
So easy to say in the middle MOR
How easy is it to say America 04 with HMH
Or a great English what if July 26 1987 with who?
I was oh so shhh quiet back then
I think of the gal age 14 who had
3 16 year olds not me or my mate!
And what of the 14 year old lad and his gal
I caught them party fucking on my dad’s bed
In time I caught up and surpassed them all
There were ones before and after
I once kept a list of the females
Who I fucked or made love to
Full fucking orgasmic penetration!
I destroyed it and cast it out out out
Now they live on in my art
Were you one of those girls hehe?

Aeroplane Poems 2 By Nick Armbrister

Aeroplane Poems 2 By Nick Armbrister

This is Nick Armbrister's second aviation based poetry collection bringing together poetry and prose from his books from 2010-15. His aircraft poems are on many types ranging from old biplanes, piston engined planes, fast modern jet fighters, flying and combat.

The Natalie poems are memorable. She was a pilot in the Falklands War. The Cold War and World War 2 is also covered, as are nuclear strike missions.

Nick has been interested in all things that fly since he was a child and this continues today with his poetry and tattoos related to modern aircraft.

Sopwith Pup

Sopwith Pup

In the cockpit of my biplane

I loop and roll to evade you

You’ll never ever beat me

I win each fucking time

I do not need your high tek

No heat seeking missiles

No infra red tracking system

No digital computer systems

No predicative Artificial Intelligence

No advanced do it all radar

No 9 g capable jet fighter

No platform of the 5th generation

No multi million dollar trained pilot

No turn the corner heat seeking rocket

No hundred mile range active radar missile

No all I need is my single seat biplane

It does one hundred miles per hour

Is armed with a machine gun

And I’ll blow your fucking head off!

Juniper’s Daughter:The Final War Nick Armbrister extra scenes

Juniper’s Daughter:The Final War Nick Armbrister extra scenes

WITCH TALKS TO THE DEVIL THEY HAVE A CUP OF TEA EACH IN CONSTANTINOPLE what chapter to go in?

A parley with the enemy. Istanbul was now a Catholic/Muslim city after the recent Turkish/Greek peace accord. The wars were over and rebuilding had begun in the flattened city. The Devil had caused the war and the witch had stopped it, thwarting his plans. Both met for a cup of tea in a small cafe in central Constantinople on a Thursday morning.
Satan was dressed in a pale red suit, lilac shirt, orange tie and dark green shoes. He wanted to make an impression. His black hair was slick and his black eyes shone with menace. Juniper’s Daughter wore a yellow and blue summer dress and gray ballet shoes. She picked this up in the Ukraine the previous summer. Her red hair was loose.
She ordered a hot sweet peppermint tea while the Devil had Royal Tea with full milk, sugar and biscuits. The only thing missing was the Queen!

TURTLE TRADE to go where?

The three fighters traded with some Chinese Communist Party members. These small men used to have a fish and chip shop before the wars. Now they represented their old homeland which was a now a collection of feudal peasant fiefdoms. The trade took place at the old stone quarry at Greenfield. It was above the abandoned derelict village and was private. Nobody could ambush them and expect to get away with it.
The group travelled there by Jap bikes. Each motorcycle was a hybrid of Yamaha/Honda/Suzuki/Mitsubishi parts and fuelled by single distilled moonshine. Decades old but lovingly maintained by Red. They wern’t fast but did the job.
Uzi machine guns with shoulder straps gave security as did five spare clips each. Body armour gave stab and ballistic protection.

ENGLISH ARMY DRONE OVER FLIGHT
An early drizzle slowly fell from the grey clouds. It made visibility half on this Monday morning in central town. In a council flat three hung over fighters slept off a night of moonshine. There was a wasp like sound. It came from everywhere and nowhere. Was there a bee or wasp nest they didn’t know about? It grew louder and was enough to wake Sarah from a deep drunken sleep. She groaned and rolled over. Daylight came through the half open broken windows. She put a shirt over her eyes and tried to sleep again. John elbowed her in the side and swore.
“Sarah, wake up for fuck sake. The English Army. It’s a fucking drone!” John threw off his sheet and got up. He looked out of the window to try to locate the drone; it must be close to be so loud. The dawn light and rain hid it.
Sarah shook her head and sat up. “Shit! The army bastards. They know we’re here. They know where we are. I don’t believe it!”

LOCAL WATER SCENE
Oldham was a town in great disrepair. The taps hadn’t worked since the wars and societies collapse. Water was always a rare commodity. There were regular ‘water wars’ and the trio had past experience of this. Rain water was collected when possible for washing and drinking but it needed to be filtered.
Their local source of water was a stream up on Oldham Edge. It was hidden and few knew about it. Random freedom fighter guards and patrols protected it. Much of the water was carried by hand in varied size containers. This was hard work. The fighters used a small 125cc Honda motorcycle fitted with a side car to carry the load which was normally 20 x 25 litre Jerry Cans. The cans were ex United States Army World War 2 surplus. They had been cleaned and scrubbed by Sarah but still tasted of gas (petrol). It was fine for the water was fresh and pure.

DAMNED

So many petty people live in our world; some sell drugs to wannabe gangsters,

while others sleep with your girlfriend and don’t say sorry.

What would I do with these petty nobodies?

Shooting them would be too quick so I’d send them to hell, a fire burning sulphurous fate for all eternity.

Back in the real world I live my life and look after number 1, as no one else gives a damn – so why should I?

BAD PERSON

What makes a person bad? Is it committing the worst crime, cold-blooded murder?

Does that make a person bad? Are they bad if it was done intentionally, or what if it was a grave error? Are normal people capable of bad acts? Is it forgivable?

There is a difference between the cold-blooded murderer who kills for fun and the driver who kills in a car crash. One is evil, the other unfortunate.

Have people forgiven me for my bad acts in the past? Will I pay in the future for the trauma I have caused? Badness comes in three forms, the evil murderer, the unfortunate victim of circumstance and the innocent turned violent.

ATF

Sleek, so surreal shapes, blended colours, invisible.

Yes, totally to us all. Power, stealth, beauty and death?

No, there is no foreseeable enemy.

Internal missiles, total computer control, massive engine power.

Yes, I have a pilot but he is only an observer.

Artificial intelligence, of course.

I can do no harm as I am a machine of beauty.

I am the angel of flight and of invincibility.

I am the Advanced Tactical Fighter designed

by an artist.

ATTACK HELICOPTER

Eight tons of metal, all armour plated and guided missiles,

this is a flying tank with the handling of a Porsche and the

beauty of a shark.

Armour piercing missiles and a 30 millimetre cannon,

that’s the goods we carry, to use on some unwary enemy.

We’ve been to Vietnam, Bosnia, the Gulf and Chechnya,

dealing death and destruction.

We lie in wait behind the trees for the little tanks to come

and meet their fiery end, for we are the scourge of the

battlefield and yes, you are the victims.

We are made in America, Russia and Europe,

specialist helicopters for a specialist job; yes, we can do

what we want as anything is possible with a gunship.

THE OLD MILL

The big Victorian mill sits big and majestic all on its own.

Not many are left now, since the fall of the cotton industry.

It is such a shame – most were demolished, but this is the way

to the future and of cheap concrete buildings.

This one here is one of a few, preserved as a reminder

complete with huge old steam engine.

People take their children there to show them how it used

to be over a hundred years ago.

DEEP BLUE SEA

I love the colour of the sea, the sound of the waves on the cliffs

and the freedom the sea holds.

Everyone has seen the sea and has run through the surf on some local beach.

Sailors still see mermaids after one too many vodkas,

shipwrecks bring the end of many a ship on razor sharp rocks.

Men of all races are still drawn to the mystery of the ocean and to

Her beauty.

Pirates across time come and pillage the cargo vessels of the sea.

Millions of ships have sunk in the perilous sea, all gone; but

they still exist down on the sea bed in their tragic and shattering beauty.

Even today the sea Gods wait for their next victims,

yes it could be you!

FLYING

Everyone can fly in the sky,

no matter who you are

or what you do, we all can do it.

There are no dimensions we can’t reach

or lands too far away.

All it takes is for you to open your

mind and to dream that you are

in the sky and you will be there.

busy doing new editions of old titles for amazon kindle

I've been very busy. The boring pain in the fucking arse side of writing making sure books are correctly listed where they should be, double and triple checking edits, etc etc. I've not written a word in weeks, been editing old work, republishing it, doing new covers etc etc. Almost done but must wait and see on correct book listing. There's always something to be done, as for new projects I've set some up for 2021. This includes no7 or is it 8? in my 2020 series and a new poem book too. Other work will also follow.

New paperback versions of my Nick Armbrister/Jimmy Boom Semtex books on Amazon Kindle

New paperback versions of my Nick Armbrister/Jimmy Boom Semtex books on Amazon Kindle

A few people in recent years asked me to do paperback versions of my books on Amazon Kindle which normally used to be just ebooks. So i did just that. My normal publisher Lulu does both ebooks and hard copy (paper/hard back) versions. I moved onto ebooks there due to the high postage/shipping cost of getting purchased copies sent to me to be checked over. The copies are quite cheap but shipping is costly. Now Amazon Kindle offers authors the option to do paperback versions at no cost to the writer. This is good and all edits/checks are digital. Though real books are great. This is the reason i don't read ebooks at all. Anyhow look up my new versions of my Nick Armbrister/Jimmy Boom Semtex books on Amazon Kindle. More follow weekly.

Early Life

Born in a working class town Oldham, north of Manchester, Nick left school in 1987 and went into college and into several varied jobs ranging from motor vehicle repair, bakery work to fork lift truck driving. His early aspirations to join the Royal Air Force came to nothing. As a child Nick wanted to join the RAF due to his love of aviation and planes but he was put off by the strict discipline. For most of his life Nick lived in and around Oldham where he worked and started writing, his writing stemming from his love of music and reading. Growing up in the latter years of the cold war shaped Nick and he gained a strong interest in aviation and military history. Along with his love of music of that era formed his journey into writing. For a few brief years Nick made plastic model aeroplane kits and drew aircraft drawings on his path to creativity that would eventually stop in his writing. He is an only child.

Other Interests

Nick's other interests include history, all types of weaponary, current affairs, paganism, mysteries, UFOs, reading Liz Hand, James Herbert, Sven Hassel and many more authors. He also likes to travel, visit museums and art galleries, enjoys films and live gigs. Tattoos are another passion and Nick now has 75% percent coverage. His mum didn't like this. But Nick does! He likes to meet new people.

Nick is a non conformist and very much an individual. He's far from perfect but does his best in life and wants the best for everyone and the world.

Writing Career

He tried to join a band but couldn't sing or play any instrument. He follows music like gothic bands of the 1980s like The Mission, All About Eve, The Cult, The Sisters of Mercy and more. He also a fan of 80s pop like The Bangles and Berlin and some metal bands like Metallica and Def Leppard. He got into gothic metal from Europe and Scandinavia in 2001 when a penpal sent him a tape of The Gathering and Lacuna Coil. Nick has tattoos of these two bands and some other band names and other tattoos. All of this inspires his writing and feature in some of his poems. He has seen many gigs live and this inspires his poetry too.

Nick started writing poetry in April 1996 while listening to Goth and metal music at an old friends' flat while getting drunk. Each Wednesday Nick went and drank beer, listened to music and created his very early work. He did up to eight short poems or a few longer ones and took a chance in sending them off to get them published. If he failed and none were accepted, he would of quit writing. But one was accepted in an early issue of an Alanis Morrissette fanzine called The Pill, Nick's poem was called Ode to Alanis.

Other poems were published in the "small press" (poetry scene) in a selection of magazines like pagan magazine Ace of Rods (his long poem in verse The Dark Tower). Nick had poetry included in a variety of poem anthology books featuring various poets. His first was called Through my Eyes in a Poetry Today book called Rivers and Bridges in 1997, more followed. Different subject matter in Nick's poems appeared in collections by the Poetry Guild and in up to half a dozen books by the Select Publications of Tilbury, Essex. Nick appeared in these in the late 90s with up to two poems in a single book (e.g. The Road and Mustiness).

From 2001 Nick was published in DJ Tyrer's series of magazines (Atlantean Publishing), appearing in The Supplement, Awen, Bard, Garbag and Monomyth. Several dozen of his poems on much subject matter have been published up to 2008. Also several short stories appeared in Monomyth which is a short story magazine edited by DJ Tyrer. Two examples of Nick's stories are themed around the Cold War like Red Empire and Final Flight.

Nick lived in Norway during 2002. His stay there influenced his writing.

Nick was first published online in 2003, his poem English Landscapes being featured on a website. This was the start of his online presence which contiues to this day, in blogs, on websites etc.

Nick's only piece to be published in Oldham was called Kahlia Akasha this was in a short story collection book about Oldham titled Big Sky, New Light and was published in 2004. Nick was in the local newspaper called the Advertiser. His story was about an aeroplane.

Nick moved from Oldham in December 2005 to the Essex/London area to further his writing career and to compile his writing anthologies, his first four volumes. This he did until his return to Oldham in late 2008 where Nick continuously wrote.

His first three self published books are with iuniverse of America. The first two are poetry collections Fade into Focus, Focus into Fade and Skeward Images. This was his early poetry. A short story collection followed titled A Nation in Flames; this comprised his stories on war, planes, Goth, horror and more.

Nick compiled a further third volume of poetry under the title of Her Name is Hope - Lifeforce. This contains the rest of his poetry from 1996-2008 that never made his first two poem books and is published by lulu. Dozens more books followed there early releases.

Nick was invited to do spoken word performances and work with a guitarist/band on his poems performing in front of a live audience. This he did in The Abbey pub and also The Gardeners pub in Oldham in 2009. Many other live sets/open mic followed. He attends writing groups, workshops and reads live whenever he can. His books they can be ordered on the websites or in good book shops as hard copy or ebooks.

From 2013 Nick spent time abroad and this inspired his poetry and story telling. His art continues with old ideas being re-visited and new ones worked upon. His words equal the world. Nick is always writing new work and projects.

He has worked in varied jobs like a big bakery in the 90s, fixing cars, as a storeman, in warehouses, as a fork lift driver and most recently, as a call centre agent.
