Burn Or Jump?

Burn Or Jump?

While the flames were burning he thought of her. Only of her. Soon he would be with her if he stayed here. Three miles above the earth in a burning bomber plane. The Lancaster on fire and he had no parachute. Soon the bomber would explode or burn up. Either way he was screwed. Should he jump out into the freezing air? He would escape the flames and heat. He would fall at terminal velocity and hit the ground then be reunited with here. Even if she left him and treated him badly then died. He still loved her. That was all that mattered.

In the last few seconds the flames got worse, louder. Louder than the engines which still spun at full power. I have to get out of here! Now my love Larna. Soon now. He went to the hatch. A cabin window suddenly blew in and flames and smoke entered. Now, I go now. He kicked the hatch open with effort.

War is Hell. Ask any soldier who had served or been shot at.

Bad Flights

The universe was against the planes on this day

There were so many plane crashes all over the world

Dozens of planes fell from the sky or collided mid-air

Most people were killed some terribly injured

Hundreds of ear misses with shaken crew and passengers

Why not simply ground all the planes let them fly the day later?

This day was unlucky to be in the air it was a cursed flying day

Didn’t they realize that after three four and five had crashed?

The number kept increasing the experts should’ve decided

This stops right now as planes can’t crash when not flying

Saving lives and valuable flying machines from ruin

Problem Solver!

A missile solves all problems in life

If you need money then steal a missile

A Soviet agent stole a live Sidewinder

And sold it to the Russians for a nice sum

If your neighbour plays loud music

Fire a Hellfire at them the music will cease

Enjoy the silence oh how serene!

Just two examples of how a missile

Solves life's problems!

When It Ends

At the time it’s the biggest event of your life

All-consuming the romance you can't live without

The sports car you think about 24/7

Looking back it wasn’t so big or important

Why at the time did it seem so?

You were so involved in too deep

Your mum says hold a little back

Don’t be disappointed when it ends

Oh Art!

Write me the story of a writer

Tell me what he or she does

Not just writing on a page

Why they do it

What inspires them?

How they do it

For whom they do it

All this and more

Start to finish the journey

Writing is an art

We can do it

Yet so few really excel

Walk down the long beach/what do you see by the sea?/God help the men there!
